Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  How does the domain purchase process works?
Answer:  We use Escrow.com to handle the domain purchasing process.  Escrow.com is an accredited escrow company that acts as a secure third party to protect the Buyer and Seller. Escrow.com verifies with the Buyer and/or the WHOIS information that the domain is transferred. The Seller isn't paid until domain name is transferred to the Buyer. Escrow.com confirms when the domain name is transferred. The Seller is authorized to transfer the domain after Escrow.com verifies good funds.

Fill out the purchase request form.
If you are interested in purchasing a premium domain, please fill out the following form.  We will then set up the transaction process for you through Escrow.com.

 Register at Escrow.com.
After registering at Escrow.com, both parties agree to terms of the transaction, which includes the domain name(s) and sale price.

The Buyer Pays Escrow.com
The Buyer submits a payment, selecting wire transfer or in some cases PayPal, credit card (American Express, MasterCard and Visa) or check/money order. Escrow.com verifies good funds and updates the website to prompt the seller to transfer the domain. Payment options and Process times vary.

The Seller (ExperienceCitiesOnline.com) Indicates the Domain Name Transfer Process Has Started.
After payment is secure, the seller is prompted to work with the buyer and the registrar to transfer the domain ownership to the buyer. Each domain registrar has a different procedure to transfer domain ownership.

Domain Registration Transferred by the Registrar
The inspection period is started once the Buyer indicates control or Escrow.com confirms the WHOIS information reflects the Buyer's customer profile. The Buyer confirms full control through the registrar and accepts the domain on the Escrow.com site.  We ask that you create a Godaddy.com account (its free) so that we can transfer the domain into your account from ours.  If we use Godaddy.com accounts, it only takes about an hour to transfer the domain, otherwise it can take days when you transfer between registrars.

The Seller (ExperienceCitiesOnline.com) is Paid by Escrow.com
When Escrow.com can verify the domain has been transferred to the Buyer and the inspection period has ended, the Seller is paid. The transaction is complete.

Question:  Once I purchase a domain, how do I take possession of it?
Answer:  If you purchase the domain through Escrow.com, you will take immediate possession of the domain once the funds clear.  Escrow.com handles the escrow service so you don't have to worry about anything.  If you purchase the domain by check, it will be a similar process.  Once the check clears we will then transfer the domain to your account from ours (all of our domains are registered with GoDaddy.com).  The process takes about an hour once you set up the account.  We reserve the right to hold the domain until the funds clear.  Once the domain is in your GoDaddy.com account, you will have complete control of it.
Question:  Are there any other charges associated with the domain name purchase (other than the $235.00) that I should be aware of?
Answer: Yes.  There is a nominal commission fee that is charged by Escrow.com to perform the process.  This fee allows you to be protected from online fraud by placing the domain and payments in escrow until both parties sign off on the transaction.  The fee is normally $25 - 35 dollars for the process.

Question: Why are all of the domain names priced at $235?  Aren't some worth more than others?  How did you come up with that price anyway?
Answer: The short answer to all of those questions is:  We wanted to provide the best value to you, and therefore priced all of the domain names well below market value.  There are certainly some domain names that would be considered very valuable (famous locations, vacation destinations, or very large cities), however we wanted to price all of our domain names (regardless of market value) within reach of any project.  We would rather sell many domains and spur activity than sell just a few each year.  Everyone deserves the chance to start a great project with a premium domain name, and at this price point everyone can!

Question: What types of payments do you accept?  Who do you use for your credit card processor?
Answer: We accept all major credit cards through Escrow.com (who is holding the domains in their escrow service), and we can also accept checks if required.  We use Escrow.com because they are a government licensed and audited 3rd party that safely holds a Buyer's payment in a trust account until the entire transaction is complete. That way, Buyers can be confident the domain will be registered in their name and Sellers can be sure they'll be paid.
Question: If I email you or call you, will you start spamming me?  I really hate that!
Answer: Absolutely not!  We don't spam, nor do we sell or rent out any email addresses provided through our site.  We respect your privacy, and will only email you when requested.  Please review our privacy policy if you have any questions.
